high mpg
if you know that 50% of a car's energy is used pushing it through the air then why are you driving a big square box?
is your SUV 49 mpg?
the 2021 Biden executive order 13990 raised fuel efficiency standards. NHTSA corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) standards require 49 mpg by 2026 for passenger cars and light trucks, including SUVs. Separate standards are set for medium-duty and heavy-duty trucks and engines.
EPA's motor vehicle emission simulator (MOVES) is a modeling system. MOVES specifies that trucks with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) less than 8,500 lbs are light duty.

42 mpg, the Honda Fit, a typical internal combustion engine from Japan, (see picture of the dashboard at night at 60 mph).
- aerodynamic: designed to slice through the wind rather than push ackwardly against it
- lightweight: compare Honda Fit 2600 lbs to a Range Rover 5400 lbs
- engine tuning: good air filter to let the engine breathe
- cruise control: steady 65-70 mph on the highway, and never, ever brake
a typical SUV weighs 2X as much as a Honda Fit.
